Membership and cancellation
Different memberships
General members are those who, at the time of application, are registered as students of the Bachelor programs Biology, Life Science & Technology and/or Biomedical Engineering at the University of Groningen.
Master members are those who, at the time of application, are registered as students of the subsequent Master’s degree programs at the aforementioned university. If a general member finishes their Bachelor's and starts a subsequent Master's degree at the University of Groningen they can become a GLV Idun master member by changing their study progression in their GLV Idun profile under Education and informing the board by emailing them (Deadline is the 1st of August). A master member has the same rights and duties as a general member, except that the contribution amount is different.
If a general member or a master member do not continue their studies at the University of Groningen after obtaining their Bachelor’s, they can become a GLV Idun alumnus by submitting a written request to the Board (send an email to board@idun.nl). An alumnus member has the same rights and duties as a general member, except that the contribution amount is different. If you wish to become an alumni-member, you have to inform the board before the 1st of August.
** From the year 2021, Molecular Medicine and Innovative Treatment students can join GLV Idun as well.
