Altenburg & Wymenga 

Independent ecological research and consultancy firm Altenburg & Wymenga is an experienced partner for government agencies, water boards, nature conservation organisations, civil society organisations, engineering firms, consultancies and other companies.

Since 1988 A&W has been helping clients with independent research, plans and visions for spatial planning, biodiversity restoration, ecological impact assessments and integrated water resources management. The company has grown from two people to around fifty today. You can find us in our offices in Veenwouden (FR) and Amsterdam – or doing fieldwork anywhere in the Netherlands, or abroad. We often work in multidisciplinary teams, and in some of our projects we work together with engineering firms, landscape architects, (urban) planners, universities and research institutes.

In an ever-changing world, we opt for an innovative approach. We aim to contribute to long-term solutions to challenges like climate adaptation, sustainable water management, restoration of biodiversity and effective nature protection.
