BioBTX comapny visit
Dear students,
On the 12th of February we will visit BioBTX, a Leader in Renewable and Biobased Aromatics centred here on Zernike campus! By joining this company visit you will get a glimpse in the world of circular chemistry.
BioBTX produces BTX, a group of molecules consisting of Benzene, Toluene, and Xylenes, from biomass and plastics. End-of-life plastics are currently being incinerated, landfilled or converted to low-value products. At BioBTX they are converted towards high-value molecules, which can be used as drop-in chemicals in the current chemical industry. BTX are used as building blocks for a large array of products, like high performance polymers, pharmaceuticals, coatings, isolation materials and PET bottles. Currently these chemicals are produced from fossil resources, but the BioBTX technology can make carbon circularity possible.
The company visit is completely free and can be joined by Idun members as well as by guests! The visit will take place from 15:00 to 16:30 on Zernikelaan 17. You can sign up from 22nd of January 19:00 until 10th of February at 13:00. Sign outs close at the same time as the sign ups.
Hope to see a lot of you there!
